Central American and Caribbean Games 1954
The 7th Central American and Caribbean Games took place from March 5th to 20th, 1954 in the Mexican capital Mexico City . Panama City had originally been awarded the contract to host the game, but the organizers announced in 1952 that they would not be able to host the games. Mexico City, which had been chosen as the replacement venue, stepped in instead.
Mexico was the most successful nation with 47 gold medals ahead of Cuba , whose athletes won gold 29 times.

Twelve countries with a total of 1321 athletes took part in the Central America and Caribbean Games.
