Central American and Caribbean Games 1982
The 14th Central American and Caribbean Games took place from August 7th to 18th, 1982 in the Cuban capital Havana .
The most successful nation was once again Cuba , whose athletes won 173 of the total of 248 competitions. It was followed by Mexico with 29 and Venezuela with 19 gold medals.
Participating Nations
22 countries took part in the Central America and Caribbean Games with a total of 2799 athletes. Grenada and the British Virgin Islands made their debut.

The Central America and Caribbean Games featured 24 sports. Sailing was part of the program again. In addition, competitions in archery , hockey , rowing and table tennis were held for the first time .
