Árni Þór Sigtryggsson (Arni Thor Sigtryggsson) (born January 13, 1985 in Akureyri ) is an Icelandic handball player .

The 1.94 meters tall and 96 kilograms heavy right back player played for Þór Akureyri until 2005 , from 2005 to 2007 for Haukar Hafnarfjörður , from 2007 to 2008 for BM Granollers and from 2008 to 2010 for KA Akureyri . For the 2010/2011 season he signed a one-year contract with DHC Rhineland , which he dissolved in January 2011 to switch to TV Bittenfeld . For the 2012/13 season he moved to TSG Friesenheim . A season later he signed a contract with league rivals EHV Aue . For the 2017/18 season he moved to the Icelandic first division club Valur Reykjavík . In January 2018 he joined Haukar Hafnarfjörður. In the summer of 2018, Árni Þór Sigtryggsson signed a two-year contract with UMF Stjarnan , where he also became assistant coach.

With Haukar he played in the 2005/06 EHF Champions League and the 2006/07 EHF Cup , 2007/08 he was also active with Granollers in the EHF Cup.

For Iceland he played four internationals with the national team and 50 junior internationals.

His brother Rúnar Sigtryggsson and his nephew Sigtryggur Daði Rúnarsson are also handball players.
