Åmsele is a place ( Småort ) in the municipality of Vindeln in the Swedish province of Västerbotten County and the historic province of Västerbotten .
The place is 80 kilometers northwest of the provincial capital Umeå on the river Vindelälven . Until 2015 Åmsele had the status of a crime scene ; after that the place lost this status due to a low population.
traffic
Åmsele is located at Länsväg 363 and has a train station in the suburb of Åmsele station about five kilometers away on the Hällnäs – Storuman railway line . However, passenger traffic is stopped here. In order to create an intersection on the single-lane route between Hällnäs and Lycksele , the previously existing intersection in Åmsele has been re-established.
