Édouard Baer (born December 1, 1966 in Paris ) is a French screenwriter , actor and film director .

Life

Baer grew up in Paris, where he attended, among other things, the Collège Stanislas in Paris. At the age of 18 he signed up for the private drama school Cours Florent . He later worked as a radio presenter, from 1992 to 1997 at Radio Nova. Édouard Baer then switched to the pay TV channel Canal + . The music for his first own film, La Bostella , which he made in 2000, was written by his brother, the chanteur Julien Baer (* 1964).

In 2008, 2009, 2018 and 2019, Édouard Baer was selected as moderator (“Maître de cérémonie”) for the opening ceremony and final award gala at the Cannes International Film Festival .
