Éric Ciotti (born September 28, 1965 in Nice ) is a French politician . He has been a member of the National Assembly since 2007 .

After graduating from high school, Ciotti studied at the Institut d'études politiques de Paris in Paris , where he graduated in 1988. In the same year he began his work as a parliamentary assistant of the deputy Christian Estrosi , which he continued until 1,992th From 1995 to 1998 he worked for Jean-Claude Gaudin . Then he was assistant to the RPR parliamentary group chairman in the regional council of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region until 2001 . From 2003 he worked again for Estrosi, who was meanwhile President of the General Council of the Alpes-Maritimes department . In 2007 he stood himself in the upcoming parliamentary elections and achieved a good 60 percent of the votes in the first constituency of the Alpes-Maritimes department in the second ballot. In 2008 he entered the Nice City Council and was then elected to the General Council, of which he was also elected President on December 18 of the same year. In the parliamentary elections in 2012 he was re-elected with a similar result as in 2007. At the end of November 2012, Ciotti had around 70 MEPs who, with their leader François Fillon, split off from the UMP group in parliament and founded their own group under the name R-UMP. Éric Ciotti received a Big Brother Award in 2010 .
