Óscar Mario González (born November 10, 1923 in Montevideo , † November 5, 2006 there ) was a Uruguayan racing car driver .

Career

Óscar González was completely unknown to the motorsport experts when he in 1956 the Grand Prix of Argentina denied. He took over the Maserati A6GCM from his compatriot Alberto Uria just after halfway through the race . González drove steady but also extremely slow laps around the course and did not try to hinder a top driver, which he succeeded. In the end, the duo was 10 laps behind the winners Juan Manuel Fangio and Luigi Musso and finished sixth.
