Üçgöz (former name Sofraz or Sofrazköy ) is a village (formerly a municipality ) in the district of Besni in the Turkish province of Adıyaman . The village is about 10 kilometers southeast of the county seat and 30 kilometers southwest of the provincial capital Adıyaman . The Sofraz Çayı (also Değirmen Çayı), a tributary of the Göksu, flows south of the village .

Tumulus A from Sofraz

South of the village, based on finds from the Hellenistic and Roman times, an ancient settlement is suspected. In 1973 a stele was found in this area showing Antiochus I von Kommagene and Apollon in dexiosis pose. Another find was a grave altar with a relief of a griffin on a wheel and an inscription describing the genealogy of a noble Commagenic family. The altar is now on display outside the Adıyaman Archaeological Museum . The two tumuli of Sofraz , which contain Roman chamber tombs, belong to the settlement .
