geography

Üssinghausen lies between Solling in the west and Weper in the east in the valley of the Espolde at the confluence of the Krummelbach at an altitude of 240 to 265 m above sea level. NN. The settlement borders directly to the north on Trögen and is located southeast of Espol .

history

In 1284 the place was first mentioned as Uftzingehusen in a document concerning the Fredelsloh monastery . In the 16th century the form of the name was much the same as it is today, in 1585 the form of the name Uessinghausen was mentioned in the troughs . In the Middle Ages the place was owned by Guelphs. In 1562 the ducal estate and the court of Üssinghausen were transferred by the sovereign to various noble families, in the 18th century it fell back to the sovereign. The patrimonial court and the political administration of the aristocratic court of Üssinghausen were dissolved in 1849, the place was incorporated into the Moringen office and later into the Northeim district. The village remained an independent municipality until it was incorporated on March 1, 1974.
