The Swiss Athletics Association, Swiss Athletics , provided a total of 15 participants at the 2011 World Athletics Championships in Daegu . The sprinter Mujinga Kambundji , initially nominated with reservations, was not considered due to the aftermath of a thigh injury. Only once before, at the World Athletics Championships in Stuttgart in 1993 , did Switzerland send a larger team with 18 athletes.
