Lisa Urech

Lisa Urech (born July 27, 1989 ) is a Swiss athlete specializing in the hurdles sprint . With a time of 12.62 s she is the fastest Swiss 100-meter hurdler of all time. The Athletics U23 European Championships in 2011 won Urech the silver medal in the 2010 European Athletics Championships , she reached the finals.

biography

2008/2009

In 2008 she became Swiss champion in the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 13.45 s. With that she finished third on the European junior season best list this year. In the following year she took the Swiss U23 record in both the 100-meter hurdles and the 60-meter hurdles in the hall. After taking part in the finals of the U23 European Athletics Championships, she met the limits for the 2009 World Athletics Championships in Berlin at the Swiss Championships . There she did not get beyond the advance.

2010

At the 2010 World Indoor Athletics Championships in Doha , she reached the semifinals in the 60-meter hurdles. After a broken collarbone, Urech was only able to start the summer season late. Nevertheless, she was able to run under 13 seconds for the first time and reached the final at the European Championships .

2011

In her first race next year, Urech was able to qualify for the 2011 European Indoor Athletics Championships in the 60-meter hurdles , and with her time of 8.04 seconds, she even led the annual world best list for a week. At the European Indoor Championships, Urech was eliminated in the semifinals. In her first open-air race in Pliezhausen , she was able to undercut the limit for the 2011 World Athletics Championships , and at the Diamond League meeting in Rome, she finished fourth. At the Athletissima in Lausanne on June 30, 2011, Lisa Urech was able to undercut the Swiss record with a time of 12.72 s by 4 hundredths, but the record was not recognized due to the strong tail wind (3.3 m / s). Four days later, on July 3, 2011, at a meeting in La Chaux-de-Fonds, she set a new Swiss record in a time of 12.62 s with a regular 0.5 m / s tail wind. At the U23 European Athletics Championships , Urech won the silver medal with a time of 13.00 s. At the 2011 World Athletics Championships, she just missed the finals and finished ninth. Urech dropped out at the Diamond League meeting in Zurich . In late September, Urech announced that she would have an operation in October for a ruptured labrum on her left hip. Urech will likely be able to resume full hurdle training four to six months after the operation.

2012

After Urech had started the season well and qualified for the Olympic Games in London , she ended the season early in July. In October she had an operation on her right hip, also for a tear in the labrum. The start of the 2013 season has therefore been delayed.

Urech lives in Langnau , has completed an apprenticeship as a business woman and successfully passed the professional Matura in 2011. She starts for the SK Langnau . With her trainer Sven Rees , u. a. Coach of the German hurdle sprinter Gregor Traber , she has been working together in Stuttgart since 2009 . Urech is 1.67 m tall and weighs 54 kg.
