The Athletissima is an annual international athletics meeting in Lausanne . It belongs since 2010 IAAF Diamond League of the IAAF . The venue for the Athletissima was initially the Stade Pierre de Coubertin , and since 1986 it has been held at the Stade Olympique de la Pontaise .

On July 11, 2006, Liu Xiang (China) set a new world record for the 110 meter hurdles in Lausanne . He completed the forest of hurdles in 12.88 s. In Liu's record race, the American Dominique Arnold undercut the old mark of 12.91 s achieved by both Liu Xiang and Colin Jackson (Great Britain) with a time of 12.90 s . The record has been improved several times since then. Other world records that no longer exist today are the 4.93 m of Jelena Issinbajewa (Russia) in the pole vault (2005) and the 9.85 s of Leroy Burrell (USA) over 100 meters , set in 1994.
