The Meeting de Paris has been an annual athletics meeting since 1984 . From 2000 it was part of the IAAF Golden League series , which was replaced by the IAAF Diamond League from 2010 .
history
The meeting was held for the first time in 1984 in the Stade Auguste-Delaune in Saint-Denis as the Meeting de Saint-Denis . With the move to the Stade de France in 1999 and acceptance into the IAAF Golden League, the event took on its present form in 2000. At that time, the event received the sponsor name Meeting Gaz de France , after the French natural gas company Gaz de France . In 2009 the French energy company Areva became the main sponsor and the name changed to Meeting Areva . The event has been called the Meeting de Paris since 2016 . In 2017, the Stade Charléty in Paris became the new venue for the event.
