history
Ellierode was first mentioned in a document in 1055. In today's place there are two old settlements: south of the Schöttelbach in the area of the church and north of the brook along the old road connection and today's road to Hardegsen. Ellierode was one of the official villages of Hardegsen since the Middle Ages and, as a parish village, was also responsible for looking after the neighboring town of Hettensen . Today the townscape of Ellierode is mainly characterized by strongly changed and newer buildings. The place was incorporated into the city of Hardegsen on June 1, 1970.
