Evangelical Church in Ützhausen

Ützhausen is a district of Schlitz in the Vogelsbergkreis in central Hesse .

geography

The place is southwest of Schlitz. State road 3141 runs through the village .

history

The village was probably settled as early as 800. It was first mentioned in a document in 1282 in a register of ownership and rights of the Fulda monastery . At that time the place name was otishusen . The place ecclesiastically belonged to the city parish in Schlitz and received its own church in 1690, which was destroyed in a major fire in the village as early as 1717. Today's half-timbered church was built in 1720, expanded in 1862 and renovated in 2000. The organ built by Augustin Oestreich dates from 1845 and has been preserved almost unchanged. A school in Ützhausen already existed before the fire of 1717, but a representative school building was first built in 1906.

On December 31, 1971, Ützhausen was incorporated into the town of Schlitz as part of the regional reform in Hesse .

politics

The mayor is Jens Güldner (as of January 2017) .
