Evangelical Church in Queck

Queck is a district of Schlitz in the Vogelsbergkreis in central Hesse . Queck includes the hamlet of Sassen, where part of the disabled facility “Die Lebensgemeinschaft eV” has settled.

geography

The place is northeast of Schlitz an der Fulda . State road 3140 runs through the village. It connects the place with Rimbach and Sandlofs .

history

In the municipal area were burial mounds from the Bronze Age found.

The oldest surviving mention of the place comes from 852 as Quekkaha and can be found in a document from the Fulda abbot Hatto I.

The current church was built in 1727.

In Queck, the Schlitzer ordinances from the 18th century, together with parts of Fulda law, were considered particular law . The Common Law applied only to the extent these special regulations did not contain provisions for a fact. This special right retained its validity during the affiliation to the Grand Duchy of Hesse in the 19th century. In judicial practice, however, the ordinances were only rarely applied. The particular law was replaced on January 1, 1900 by the civil code that was uniformly valid throughout the German Empire .

The house of Quecker mayor Adam Lips (1856–1918) was moved to Hessenpark in 1977 .

On December 31, 1971, Queck was incorporated into the town of Schlitz as part of the regional reform in Hesse .

politics

The mayor is Hans Kraft (as of March 2018) .
