Evangelical Church in Hartershausen

geography

The place is southeast of Schlitz an der Fulda . State road 3143, which connects Hartershausen with Hemmen and Üllershausen , runs through the village .

history

The oldest surviving mention of the village comes from a document from 871, which testifies that King Ludwig the German gave his property in Hartrateshus to Abbot Sigihart von Fulda .

The church probably dates from the 13th century. The organ dates from 1685. It was built by Johann Christoph Hart .

Hartershausen belonged to the Schlitz rule . Here, the Schlitzer ordinances from the 18th century, together with parts of the Fulda law, were considered particular law . The Common Law applied only to the extent these special regulations did not contain provisions for a fact. This special right retained its validity during the affiliation to the Grand Duchy of Hesse in the 19th century. In judicial practice, however, the ordinances were only rarely applied. The particular law was replaced on January 1, 1900 by the civil code that was uniformly valid throughout the German Empire .

On August 1, 1972, Hartershausen was incorporated into the town of Schlitz as part of the regional reform in Hesse by state law.
