ǃKheis ( English ǃKheis Local Municipality ) is a local municipality in the ZF Mgcawu district of the South African province of North Cape . The seat of the municipal administration is in Groblershoop . Mayor is Andries Leon Diergaardt.

ǃKheis is the Khoi word for “a place to live” or “home”. The Khoi were the first permanent residents of the area.

In 2011 the community had 16,637 inhabitants. Of these, 85.4% were colored , 6.9% black, 5.4% white and 1% Indian or Asian. The spoken language was 92.9% Afrikaans, 1.8% Setswana and 1.1% English.
