Kgatelopele ( English Kgatelopele Local Municipality ) is a local municipality in the ZF Mgcawu district of the South African province of North Cape . The seat of the municipal administration is in Danielskuil . Mayor is Rene Losper.

Kgatelopele is the Setswana word for "progress".

In 2011 the community had 18,627 inhabitants. Of these, 49.9% were black, 38.9% colored and 9.8% white. 57.9% of the speakers were Afrikaans, 32.5% Setswana, 2.8% English, 1.6% isiXhosa and 1.3% isiZulu .
