Ɀ

Ɀ (lower case ɀ) is a letter of the Latin writing system , consisting of a Z with a pulled down tail. The letter has been in writing since 1937 and was used by Africanists for the IPA sound [ zʷ ]. The letter was also used in Shona orthography from 1931 , but due to the lack of typewriters, it was abolished in 1955 and replaced by the digraph zv .
