(10089) Turgot is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 22 September 1990 by the Belgian astronomer Eric Walter Elst at the La Silla Observatory ( IAU code 809) of the European Southern Observatory in Chile was discovered.

The asteroid belongs to the Nysa group, a group of asteroids named after (44) Nysa, which is also known as the Hertha family (after (135) Hertha ).

(10089) Turgot was named on July 28, 1999 after the French economist Anne Robert Jacques Turgot (1727–1781), who worked during the Enlightenment and described the main features of the Income Act , whose reforms ultimately failed due to resistance from the nobility.
