(1313) Berna is an asteroid of the main belt discovered on August 24, 1933 by the Belgian astronomer Sylvain Julien Victor Arend in Ukkel .
The asteroid is orbited by the natural satellite S / 2004 (1313) 1 , which has a diameter of approx. 15.2 ± 6.2 kilometers, at a very short distance of 35 km and with an orbital period of 1.061 ± 0.005 days.
At the request of the orbit calculator, Sigmund Mauderli , the asteroid was named after the Swiss federal city of Bern .
