(13526) Libbrecht is a asteroid of the main belt , which on August 3, 1991 by the Belgian astronomer Eric Walter Elst at the La Silla Observatory ( IAU code 809) of the European Southern Observatory in Chile was discovered.

The asteroid was named on August 29, 2015 after the Belgian philosopher Ulrich Libbrecht (1928-2017), who wrote numerous books on topics of Eastern and comparative philosophy.
