(13531) Weizsäcker is an asteroid of the main belt named on May 23, 2000 after Carl Friedrich von Weizsäcker , a physicist and philosopher . It was discovered on September 13, 1991 by Freimut Börngen and Lutz D. Schmadel in the Thuringian State Observatory Tautenburg ( IAU code 033) in the Tautenburger Wald in Thuringia .
