(14400) Baudot is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 16 November 1990 by the Belgian astronomer Eric Walter Elst at the La Silla Observatory ( IAU code 809) of the European Southern Observatory in Chile was discovered.
The asteroid was named after the French engineer and inventor Jean-Maurice-Émile Baudot (1845-1903), who in 1870 developed the Baudot code named after him for telegraphic transmission.
