(16035) Sasandford is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 24 March 1999 by the Lowell Observatory Near-Earth-Object Search project at the Lowell Observatory was discovered.

The celestial body was named after the American astronomer and meteorite researcher Scott Alan Sandford (* 1957), who studied the relationships between interstellar chemistry and the materials found in meteorites at NASA's Ames Research Center .
