(163899) 2003 SD 220 is a near-Earth asteroid that crosses the earth's orbit and whose perihelion lies within the orbit of Venus . 2003 SD 220 was discovered on September 23, 2003 as part of the LONEOS project .

The asteroid moves to Earth in a 4: 3 orbital resonance , causing a close encounter every three years. On December 24, 2015, 2003 SD 220 approached the earth to a distance of 11 million kilometers. On December 22, 2018, the distance was just 2.8 million kilometers. In 2070 the asteroid will pass Earth at a distance of 2.7 million kilometers.
