(1790) Volkov is an asteroid of the main belt , which was discovered on March 9, 1967 by the Russian astronomer LI Tschernych at the Crimean Observatory in Nautschnyj .

The asteroid is named after the Russian cosmonaut Wladislaw Nikolajewitsch Volkov .
