Charles Henry Aldrich (born August 28, 1850 in LaGrange County , Indiana , † April 13, 1929 in Chicago , Illinois ) was an American lawyer and United States Solicitor General .

biography

After attending school, he studied at the University of Michigan , where he earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in 1875 . After being admitted to the lawyer in the state of Indiana in 1875, he worked first as an attorney at Coombs, Morris & Bell before he after admission to the bar in the state of Illinois partner of the 1876 law firm was Aldrich, Payne & DeFrees.

In March 1892, Charles Aldrich, who was a member of the Republican Party, was named Solicitor General by President Benjamin Harrison . This took him to April 1893, third in the hierarchy in the United States Department of Justice .

Aldrich was also a member of several legal professional associations, such as the Chicago Bar Association and the American Bar Association, and was temporarily president of the Chicago Law Club .
