(18510) Chasles is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 16 September 1996 by the Italian-American astronomer Paul G. Comba on Observatory Prescott ( IAU code 684) in Arizona was discovered.

The asteroid was named after the French mathematician Michel Chasles (1793-1880), who was professor at the École polytechnique in Paris from 1841 and is one of the founders of the so-called newer geometry.
