(2258) Viipuri is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 7. October 1939 by the Finnish astronomer Yrjö Väisälä at Turku was discovered.

The name of the asteroid comes from the Finnish name of the often contested, now Russian city of Vyborg , which is located near the Finnish-Russian border.
