(24105) Broughton is an asteroid of the main belt , the American US on November 9, 1999 by amateur astronomer Charles W. Juel at Fountain Hills Observatory ( observatory code 678) in Fountain Hills in the state of Arizona was discovered.
The asteroid was named on November 26, 2004 after the Australian amateur astronomer John Broughton (* 1952), who discovered more than 1000 asteroids at the Reedy Creek Observatory in Queensland .
