(2449) Kenos ( 1978 GC ) is an asteroid of the main inner belt that was discovered on November 2, 1975 by the US astronomer William Liller at the Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory about 80 km east of La Serena in Chile ( IAU code 807) has been discovered.
designation
(2449) Kenos was named after the first man in the mythology of the indigenous people of Tierra del Fuego , who was sent by God to bring order to the world. He created mankind by making male and female organs from peat , teaching them the language and giving them rules to create a harmonious society. The name was proposed by the American astronomer Frederick Pilcher .
