(25001) Pacheco is an asteroid of the main belt , which the Spanish on 31 July 1998 , astronomers Ángel López Jiménez at the Observatorio Astronomico de Mallorca ( Observatories Code 620) Costitx on the Balearic -Insel Mallorca was discovered.

The asteroid was named on August 6, 2003 after the Spanish amateur astronomer Rafael Pacheco (* 1954), who was one of the first Spanish amateur astronomers to specialize in astrometry .
