(28766) Monge is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 29 April 2000 by the American Italo- astronomer Paul G. Comba at Prescott Observatory ( IAU code in 684) Arizona was discovered.
The asteroid is named after the French mathematician , physicist and chemist Gaspard Monge (1746–1818), who made a significant contribution to descriptive geometry .
