(30418) Jakob Steiner is an asteroid of the main belt , which from on 1 June 2000 Italian-American astronomer Paul G. Comba at the observatory Prescott ( IAU code 684) in Arizona was discovered.

The asteroid was named after the Swiss mathematician Jakob Steiner (1796–1863), who made it up to the doctorate as an autodidact and after whom a large number of geometric problems were named.
