(308) Polyxo is an asteroid of the main asteroid belt discovered by A. Borrelly at the Marseille Observatory on March 31, 1891 .

The heavenly body was named after Polyxo , the mother of Antiope from Greek mythology .

Polyxo moves at a distance of 2.6 ( perihelion ) to 2.9 ( aphelion ) astronomical units in 4.6 years around the sun . The orbit is inclined 4.4 ° to the ecliptic , the orbital eccentricity is 0.04.

Polyxo has a diameter of 141 kilometers. It has a dark surface with an albedo of 0.05. It rotates around its own axis in around 12 hours.
