(31122) Brook Taylor is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 21 September 1997 by the Italian-American astronomer Paul G. Comba at Prescott Observatory ( IAU code 684) in Prescott , Arizona was discovered.

The asteroid was named after the British mathematician Brook Taylor (1685-1731), who gained important knowledge in the field of differential calculus . The asteroid was named on March 28, 2002.
