(31665) Veblen is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 10 May 1999 by the American Italo- astronomer Paul G. Comba at Prescott Observatory ( observatory code in 684) Arizona was discovered.
The asteroid is named after the US mathematician Oswald Veblen (1880–1960), who taught at the Institute for Advanced Study from 1932 and made valuable contributions in topology , projective geometry and differential geometry . The appointment took place on March 28, 2002.
