(3551) Verenia is an asteroid from Amor type that on 12 September 1983 by R. Scott Dunbar at Mount Palomar was discovered.

The asteroid is named after the first vestal virgin consecrated by the legendary Roman king Numa Pompilius . (3551) Verenia is the first of the Cupid-type asteroids to be grouped with asteroid (4) Vesta .

A close flyby of (3551) Verenia was planned for the Clementine lunar exploration probe in October 2005.
