(4061) Martelli is a main belt asteroid discovered on March 19, 1988 by Walter Ferreri from the La Silla Observatory .
The asteroid was named after Giuseppe Martelli , who served on the board of the Space and Plasma Physics Group at the University of Sussex from 1964 to 1984.
