(4119) Miles is a main belt asteroid discovered by Edward LG Bowell on January 16, 1983 at the Anderson Mesa Station of the Lowell Observatory .
The asteroid is named after Howard G. Miles, the first head of the Artificial Satellite Section of the British Astronomical Association .
