(4169) Celsius is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 16 March 1980 by the Swedish astronomer Claes-Ingvar Lagerkvist at the European Southern Observatory (ESO) at La Silla in Chile was discovered.
The asteroid is named after the Swedish naturalist Anders Celsius (1701–1744), who also gave the name to the famous temperature scale.
