(5078) Solovjev-Sedoj is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on September 19, 1974 by the Russian astronomer Lyudmila Ivanovna Chernych at the Crimean Observatory ( IAU code 095) in Nautschnyj .

The asteroid was named after the Soviet composer Vasily Pawlowitsch Solowjow-Sedoi (1907–1979), who created both classical compositions and Estrada titles.
