(5894) Telč is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on September 14, 1982 by the Czech astronomer Antonín Mrkos at the Kleť Observatory ( IAU code 046) near Český Krumlov in the Czech Republic.
It was named on November 23, 1999 after the town of Telč , first mentioned in 1207 , which is located at the foot of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands and whose historic city center has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1992 and has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List .
