(6006) Anaximandros is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 3 April 1989 by the Belgian astronomer Eric Walter Elst at the La Silla Observatory ( IAU code 809) of the European Southern Observatory in Chile was discovered.

The asteroid is a member of the Koronis family, a group of asteroids named after (158) Koronis.

The asteroid is named after the pre-Socratic Greek philosopher Anaximander (~ 610 BC – 547 BC), who is considered to be a student and successor of Thales and who is counted among the Milesians .
