(616) Elly is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on October 17, 1906 by the German astronomer August Kopff in Heidelberg .

It is probably named after the translator Elly Boehm (Elly Meyer-Ellès), the wife of the German mathematician Karl Boehm .
