(64070) NEAT is an asteroid of the main belt , on 24 September 2001 by the amateur astronomer Charles W. Juel and Paulo R. Holvorcem at Fountain Hills Observatory ( observatory code 678) in Fountain Hills in the state of Arizona was discovered .
The asteroid was named in January 2005 in honor of the Near Earth Asteroid Tracking (NEAT) asteroid search program, which detected near-Earth asteroids between 1995 and 2007.
