(8299) Téaleoni is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 9 October 1993 by the Belgian astronomer Eric Walter Elst at the La Silla Observatory of the European Southern Observatory ( IAU code 809) in Chile was discovered.
The asteroid was named on November 20, 2002 after the American actress and film producer Téa Leoni (* 1966), whose greatest role to date has been the disaster film Deep Impact , in which she played a reporter.
