(8865) Yakiimo is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 1 January 1992 by the Japanese astronomer Akira Natori and Takeshi Urata at the JCPM Yakiimo station ( IAU code 885) in Shimizu in Shizuoka Prefecture was discovered.
The asteroid was named on November 20, 2002 after the location of its discovery, the JCPM Yakiimo Station Observatory .
